Tumor or Neoplasm: An abnormal new growth of cells
Neoplasia: The presence or formation of new, abnormal growth of tissue.

Glia: Also called glial cells or neuroglia. A supportive cell in the central nervous system. Unlike neurons, glial cells do not conduct electrical impulses. The glial cells surround neurons and provide support for and insulation between them. They maintain homeostasis, form myelin, and provide support and protection for neurons. 
The connective tissue of the nervous system, consisting of several different types of cell associated with neurons.

Most primary brain tumors begin in glial cells.
Oncovirus is a virus that can cause cancer.

A tumor is an abnormal mass of cells. Tumors can either be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous).



Virus that causes cancer:

  • Human papillomavirus (HPV)
  • Hepatitis B virus (HBV)
  • Hepatitis C virus (HCV)
  • Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)
  • Human T-lymphotropic virus(HTLV)
  • Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (HHV-8)
  • Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCV)

Bacteria that causes cancer:

  • Helicobacter pylori
  • Chlamydia pneumoniae
  • Salmonella Typhi
  • Streptococcus bovis
  • Mycoplasma                

6 Types of Cancer:

  • Carcinoma: occur in epithelial tissues
  • Sarcoma: occur in connective tissue
  • Myeloma: occur in plasma cells in the bone marrow
  • Leukemia: produce large numbers of abnormal of blood cells to enter bloodstream
  • Lymphoma: occur in immune system cells
  • Mixed
